(now Duke University), in the 1870s, which was done at home with members of the faculty as tutors. Includes receipts for tuition. Other topics include her experiences as a schoolteacher; a trip abroad with her sister Persis; and missionary work in India, China, and Guatemala. Also includes a charter, 1889, for the Giles sisters and their mother to operate Greenwood Female College in Greenwood, S.C.
